Requirements

Omega Design Corporation is looking for a self-starter who will help develop, design and improve the next generation of packing machinery. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a key contributor of new product design concepts and existing product line improvements. The right candidate will bring innovative ideas, a can-do attitude and a strong ability to communicate design intent to all stakeholders. Omega Design offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution in a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere.

  • Mastery of Solidworks or similar 3D solid modeling software
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong engineering fundamentals - ability to calculate static and dynamic load requirements as they apply to automated machines; understanding of dynamic relationships between gears, sprockets, chains, etc
  • Experience with stress calculation software preferred
  • Knowledge of DFMA strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and automated valve-control systems
  • Knowledge of PLCs and programming a plus
  • Knowledge of assembly methods, tools, jigs and fixtures
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design and engineering of automated machinery
