Heeding the Call for Support During the Pandemic

Omega Design has long served an active role in its community by embracing opportunities to strengthen and support the organizations we care deeply about. As an equipment manufacturer, we have always felt that our biggest contribution to the community would come from directly supporting S.T.E.M. education, workforce development, and promoting American manufacturing. As important as these initiatives are, we were nevertheless surprised and humbled by a request to join a network of volunteers in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak.

In March 2020, Design Point, a local engineering solution provider, asked if Omega could divert some Engineering and Manufacturing resources to help produce parts needed for medical face shields. Design Point has been sourcing various parts and sending them to their partner, the United Safety & Survivability Corporation (USSC), who then assembles them into face shields. USCC distributes the face shields and other life-saving PPE materials to medical professionals around the country.

According to Design Point, this network of volunteers have produced more than 3,250 face shields to date. Omega has a deep reverence for the professionals on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic and is proud to support this meaningful effort in our small way.
